Patient Participation Group

What is a Patient Participation Group?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a representative group of patients who kindly take time from their schedules to attend special practice meetings to share feedback on services, staff experiences, and ideas on how we can improve our services. This helps us understand how patients perceive our surgery and what we can do to improve.

Aims and membership of the PPG

The main purpose of our PPG is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions regarding the quality and range of services provided. Our PPG is made up of patients from the Practice who meet every month to discuss future developments of the Practice. Discussions take place as a patient group and can involve the Practice Manager, Reception Manager, and doctor.

We also encourage email membership to our group and we forward newsletters via email after each meeting. There is a reply address so that any questions or ideas may be passed back to the group at the next meeting. We would welcome your involvement in this group and contact details are on the latest newsletter.

If you would like to sign up for our Patient Participation Group, you can download our PPG registration formĀ here.

In summary, our aims are to:

  • be a voice for patients
  • support the practice with new developments
  • provide a link service for patients with the practice/advocacy role
  • provide feedback to the practice
  • provide suggestions on how patient services could be improved
